Who is animator/entertainer?
Animator or entertainer is a person who creates and organizes animation program in the hotel, club, holiday resort
or boat in cooperation with his/her team and entertain guests with different kinds of sports and social activities.

Animator is always working in a team consisting of a chief animator. Every member of a team has a specific tasks and duties, e.g. children animator, sport or fitness animators, DJ, etc. Animation team might consist of 2–20 animators depending on a hotel or club.


What is the task of the animator?
During the day the animators organize various events around the pool, the beach or at the bar. Each animator is responsible for a different activity that all guests have a choice from a wide range of the offered programs. The animator position includes a combination of more activities but it is also possible the specialization on the particular areas as following:

Sport animators
Sport animators perform instructional-coaching function, organize sports tournaments e.g. beach volleyball, football, tennis, table tennis, water ball, bocce, darts, aerobic, aqua gym, stretching, etc.
They invite guests to participate in organized programs and spread the ideas of active spending of holidays.

Child animators
Child animators offer to youngest customers rich animation program that can begin with children's dance club, continues with painting, construction of the sand castles, sports games and usually ended with evening Mini disco.
Their mission is to concentrate children in a certain place, not only to let their parents to relax but especially because their own children need the company of their peers.


Dance animators
Dance animators know the basics of different styles of dance and at least one on a higher level. With their movements they can make dancing even less active guests, as well as they can flash the whole mass of people. Club, Standard and Latino-American dances of our animators create a real mood of the dance anywhere and anytime. To this category of animators also belong trainers of aerobics.

DJ
Without him/her is not possible any game, any show or entertainment. Our DJ is responsible for the music accompaniment of daily activities, as well as lights, music itself on the show and disco. At his/her music box is possible to find every song on the request: from the oldies to the latest hits.


Moderator
Position of moderator requires a great talent, positive and quick response to any situation, excellent sense of humor, a pleasant voice and ability to engage listeners anytime and everywhere and of course greater linguistic ability.


Chief animator
The most important person - the ideological inspirer and leader of the animation team responsible for the quality of the entertainment program and activities at the hotel. He/she has excellent organizational skills, gives tasks and instructions to his/her team (the other animators) and help them to care about customers. Very frequent he/she moderates evening programs and shows in different languages. Previous experience in animation is a must.
 
Every evening animators all together organize the entertainment program for the guests and they become at least a while theater and dance "stars of the stage."
Frequently there are also discos and evening entertainment programs with the active participation of guests themselves (the choice of Miss, Master, the best couple and the hotel, etc.), where the fun is taken care of beforehand. Every day of animator begins early in the morning and ends up in the late night hours but is divided into three main parts (morning, afternoon and evening animation) and at each break there is even time for a quick rest.
 
How the animator’s working day may look like?
Animator’s work takes in average 8-10 hours a day, 6 days a week:
9:00 Breakfast at the hotel;
9:30 Animation team meeting - the listing of activities;
9:50 Preparation for the first activity, such as aerobics - selection of the music, preparation of the sound system, preparation of the  exercising area, mats, tools, etc. For children's activity – setting up of the tables and chairs at the Mini-Club, preparation of the equipment needed for activity;
10:00 Morning announcements of the daily activities, then start of activities - according to the specification of animator;
From 10:00 till 12:30 Morning activities;
12:30 Meeting of the animation team – arrangement of the afternoon activities, training of the evening program;
13:30 Lunch at the hotel;
15:00 Announcement of afternoon activities, then start of activities - according to the specification of animator;
From 15:00 till 17:30 Afternoon activities;
19:00 Inviting the guests before the dinner for the evening program;
20:30 Children's Disco - Mini-Club;
21:15 Last preparations before the evening program - set up the lights, music preparation, etc.;
21:30 Evening program - participation of all animators, each evening is organized another program such as musicals, sketch-shows, dance shows, programs with the participation of guests, etc.;
22:30 Contact with guests throughout the evening program, conversation with guests at their tables or on the bar, dancing with the guests;
23:30 According to the mood and number of the present guests slowly stating of removing of the decorations, lights, audio apparatus, putting-off  the costumes, exchange of the posters with the program for the following day;
24:00 Ending of official working time.

Sometimes it is necessary to train the new programs or choreography after midnight because during the day there was lack of time to manage everything. Not always you’ll be able to go to bed after midnight, in case you go with colleagues or guests for a drink or to the discotheque or you stay longer with the guests.


In which countries you can work as an animator?
Animator works mainly in the countries which are visited by tourists, mainly during the summer touristic season. Job offers for the animators are similar to the offers of the holiday brochures of travel agencies. Prevail "Southern" destinations; the most popular are Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Egypt and Turkey.


Who can become the animator?
This position is intended primarily for the young energetic people with no commitments, who love traveling, make new contacts and are able and willing to leave their places for a longer period and begin to live and work in the new surroundings.


What you should do to be a good animator?
First and foremost is to have excellent organizational skills, a desire and motivation to work with people and positive attitude to children. From the animator is required as well an active attitude to sport, being familiar with the current rules of the various sports and also a pleasant appearance and demeanor.
The animator must be sociable, lively, should have the necessary knowledge of geography, history and culture and be able to adjust his/her behavior to the cultural habits of the country of his/her activity (especially the Arabian counties).
Active using of the foreign languages is a prerequisite for obtaining this attractive job because the animator at work usually gets in touch with the multilingual clientele.
In addition to verbal communication is important the expression of body language and facial expression.
Every animator should have good communicational skills, should be able to improvise and be able to take care of the guests even at the mentally demanding situations.
The benefit for each animator is artistic talent (dancing, singing, acting, etc), technical skill, ability of moving on the stage and to speak into the microphone understandably.


Why to become an animator?
This profession provides the opportunity to combine work and entertainment. The animator can discover the new places and not permanently bind to a single venue. The offer of the travel destinations is rich and each season can be spent in another location.
Animators meet at their work numbers of interesting people, make new contacts for the future and obviously improve their language skills.
And for sure it is financially attractive job. Animators are already provided with accommodation, meal and soft drinks at the hotel. This way other living costs are minimal and you can save almost the entire monthly salary. Days off can be spent at the beach or on some trips.
